美国电影学院 20/20 计划是美国驻香港及澳门总领事馆与香港艺术中心合办的节目。这个计划是透过与世界各地导演的合作，培养优秀的电影人才，并借着放映这些独立自主的作品，作不同文化的交流、尊重及理解，从而抛却成见、提倡言论自由、宽容忍耐及知识产权的重要性。而20/20 计划推动的独立精神及多元文化的价值与理念，与艺术中心的宗旨相融不悖。每年一度举办的香港独立短片及录像比赛，是促进本地创作及打造独立自主的力量；并放映世界各地不同题材及议题的独立作品，举行座谈会、工作坊、展览、课程，借国际的视野，让本地的文化艺术工作者嘹亮发声，缔造多元的角度及文化去关注社会、推动艺术、珍视生活。
AFI (American Film Institute) Project 20/20 is a program co-organized by the Consulate General of the United States Hong Kong and Macau and Hong Kong Arts Centre. With this Project, we hope to cultivate talents for the film industry through collaboration with directors from various parts of the world, as well as enhance intercultural exchange, mutual respect and understanding through the screening of independent films, thereby scrapping prejudices, encouraging free speech, tolerance of differences and respect for intellectual property rights. Hong Kong Arts Centre shares in the Project’s spirit of independence and multi-cultural values. The ifva competition is held annually to encourage local independent creativity and cultivate young filmmakers and media artists, while screenings of independent films of various origins and themes, as well as seminars, workshops, exhibitions, courses and other communal activities give local artists a voice of their own, creating more diverse ways and perspectives for social participation, promotion of arts, and life itself.2309
